Square Peg Design was chosen by the University of California, Merced to develop the wayfinding and signing master plan for the newest campus in the University of California system. The campus opened for classes in September of 2006. 

The first phase of the campus included: School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities, Kolligian Library, Student Housing and the Recreation Facility.
